The old gas works in Seattle, Washington is a menacing structure surrounded by a beautifully green park and adorned with symbols of shocking contrast.

@Peter Miller: The structure really is scary looking. The gas works is fenced off from the park that surrounds it. I think that it's actually a superfund site.
